The Kentucky Education Association lobbies on behalf of its
30,000 members on issues affecting children and public education.
Our legislative goal is:

To provide the necessary funding for education to ensure that future generations of Kentuckians have the quality education they need to succeed.

To meet this goal, the objectives are to:
Provide equitable and adequate funding required to advance the ambitious education reform initiative passed by the General Assembly.
Provide adequate school employee compensation to guarantee the attraction and retention of the finest teachers and education support professionals to work with our children.
Provide quality affordable health insurance for our public school employees.

The lobbying team is headed by Sharron Oxendine, KEA President and
Mary Ann Blankenship, Executive Director.

Also participating in the KEA lobbying effort are KEA staff and elected
leaders. Inside this site, you will find information concerning education
related issues before the Kentucky General Assembly. You will find updates on
issues, our legislative newsletter, information about committee meetings, and
KEA testimony/activities. You may select to receive our Action Alerts and
Capitol Report (published weekly during the legislative session) via your
personal email by subscribing here.

The lobbying team welcomes members'
feedback on issues before the legislature
and on this site. Please use our feedback form to send mail
